An interest in talking...Seems to be something I have had since a very young age. Born in 1978, I'm originally from Baltimore Maryland, but have a lived a wide and varied life in various locations as the son of an environmental writer/educator and a social worker. There's not too many kids who can say they spent some of their formative elementary school years in a one room schoolhouse w two classmates in my grade such as I did living on Smith Island. My passion for broadcasting I guess intertwined with my love of sports. I have always enjoyed watching sports growing up and playing them as well, but hearing announcers such as Howard Cosell and Marv Albert or Brent Musberger made me realize I would like to pursue something along those lines as a career.Also, people said I've had a big mouth for a long time and should put it to use.
My first job in broadcasting was with Frostburg State University as part of their student run radio station back in 1996 as part of a sports show called "The Bleacher Preachers". It was there I realized that this is what I wanted to do. I graduated from Salisbury University in 2000 with a degree in Communications and then went to work for X106.9 in Bishopville MD, where I stayed as a on air jock and eventually music director until the station folded in 2007. In early 2008, an old co worker of mine at the X offered me a position with Ocean 98 and I have been here ever since...It took a lot of hard work and at times working multiple jobs to achieve my radio dream, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. It's a pleasure to inform the listeners of Ocean 98 of their daily news, as well as my Ocean98.com exclusive sports show, "The Sports Blitz", and it's something I look forward to doing for a long time to come.
